Hungarian is truly unique, so we’ll begin by mastering the sounds of the alphabet. This will give you the confidence to read and pronounce any Hungarian word correctly and even spell your own name in Hungarian!
Learn each letter/sound and practice spelling. Articles (definite/indefinite), numbers 1–100, and everyday foundational words. Verb “to be,” personal pronouns, vowel harmony, and negation.

Before moving forward, we begin by revisiting the key elements from the A1 course and deepening your understanding of them. This review will help you strengthen your confidence with essential grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation. From there, you’ll learn how to introduce yourself in more detail—talking about your background, interests, and daily life in a more natural and complete way.

You will learn how to introduce yourself clearly and naturally: saying your name, where you’re from, and sharing a little about yourself. From there, you’ll learn how to ask basic questions - such as someone’s name, origin, or how they’re doing - so that you can begin building real conversations from day one.

Hungarian sentence structure can feel flexible and complex at first, but in this course you’ll learn how it works step by step. We’ll focus on mastering word order and understanding how meaning and emphasis change depending on where words appear in a sentence. With guided practice, you’ll begin creating your own sentences confidently and expressing ideas more clearly in Hungarian.

Family is central in Hungarian culture, so we’ll learn the words for parents, siblings, grandparents, and more - plus how to talk about them naturally in conversation. You’ll also practice describing people and things: from appearance to personality

Building on what you learned in the A1 course, we’ll expand your food-related vocabulary and conversational skills. You’ll learn how to comfortably order in restaurants, cafés, and bars, ask questions about dishes, and interact naturally with staff. By the end of this module, you’ll be able to enjoy Hungarian hospitality with ease—whether you’re ordering a meal, leaving a tip, or making a great impression.

Learn how to describe common places around the city - like shops, restaurants, and landmarks - and practice the language you need for getting around by different modes of transport with ease. You’ll also master telling the time and talking about when events happen, so you can confidently make plans, ask for schedules, or simply know when to be somewhere.

In this section, you’ll learn the vocabulary needed to talk about clothes and personal style. You’ll practice describing colours, sizes, and different types of clothing, as well as asking for help in shops. This will allow you to navigate everyday situations like shopping for clothes or talking about what you’re wearing.

Food is one of the best (and tastiest!) ways to connect with Hungarian culture. You’ll expand your vocabulary with everyday ingredients and dishes - including classics like gulyás - so you can recognize items on a menu or talk about your favorite meals.
We’ll also practice how to confidently order food and drinks in cafés, restaurants, and bars, from greeting the waiter to asking for the bill. By the end, you’ll be ready to enjoy Hungarian hospitality with confidence - whether it’s a quick coffee, a full dinner, or a night out with friends.

Once you are comfortable with basic numbers from the A1 course, you’ll take them further by learning how suffixes change their meaning. You’ll practice using numbers to express order, sequence, and frequency—skills that are essential for everyday conversations and clearer communication.

As we explore topics related to daily life, we’ll also build a solid foundation in Hungarian grammar. You’ll get clear explanations and practice with key elements such as suffixes, verb conjugation, and the basics of past and future tenses.
This structured approach will give you the tools to create your own sentences, use new words in context, and express yourself more freely. Step by step, you’ll move from memorizing phrases to actively building the language yourself.

You’ll learn how to talk about the seasons, months, and weather in Hungarian, expanding your ability to discuss time and plans in more detail. This includes speaking about specific dates, describing seasonal activities, and talking about the weather in natural conversation.

Language becomes truly useful when it connects to everyday life. In this module, you’ll learn vocabulary related to the home and the objects you use daily. You’ll also practice describing your daily routine—from waking up in the morning and getting ready for the day to winding down and going to bed—allowing you to speak about your life in a more complete and personal way.

Throughout the course, the focus remains on helping you move beyond memorized phrases and toward active communication. With practical vocabulary, clear grammar explanations, and structured practice, you’ll develop the confidence to form longer sentences, express more complex ideas, and interact more naturally in Hungarian.
